Dear colleagues:

           If you are reading this letter then it means that you are at the website of Gremi de Galeries d’Art de Catalunya, (Guild of Catalan Art Galleries), the association linked to the art market with the most associated members in the Spanish context.

           Despite being a well established and constantly expanding association, this is perhaps the first time that you have heard about us. This is not unusual. The constant work of art galleries is of quality and is consistent but it frequently remains unknown in the context of cultural activities.

           Really, the art galleries are an important agent for the articulation of the art networks. The activity of the Catalan galleries is important, in size, time and space reflecting the creative effervescence of our social context.

           Our goal is integrating our association and all our galleries in the social network around. In this way, we aim to create new synergies and enhance our prestige as galleries. Consequently, Culture in our country will benefit greatly.

           If you direct a gallery and you are still out of our association, I invite you to become a member. In the section “How to join” you will find all the information about the benefits you will obtain by being a member of our Guild and the steps to take to join.

           
           If we get more art galleries together in our project, we will have more power to deal with the social agents and the public and private institutions. Likewise, I promise to defend your interests. You will not feel alone with us. All too often, the particular work you develop daily in your gallery will be gratifying, but it may at the same time isolate you from the dynamics linked to a wider concept of the art market. Our principal goal is to avoid this isolation and unify all ours efforts towards going forward. All Catalan galleries are necessary in this project.
